EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES
TOGETHER
A collaboration between Centre for Newcomers (CFN), Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) and The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) to address the increases in incidents of racism and hate based violence in racialized communities in Calgary and surrounding area.

-
address immediate safety concerns through empowerment workshops and self-defence training
-
conduct participatory action research to have concrete data on the voices, needs and recommendations of racialized communities
-
bring together community members and policy makers to create ways to ensure the safety and dignity of racialized communities
